E-Collar Policies & Expectations

E-Collar program includes:

  • (6) full days of private lessons in my home/neighborhood, across 6 weeks

  • daily videos of training sessions uploaded to a shared Google drive

  • (6) mini lessons with you at the end of each training day

  • (1) Educator ET-300 Mini and (1) 30-foot long line

  • unlimited text/email support between sessions

  • access to e-collar group classes upon completion

What to expect:

  • I teach the e-collar in a gentle and methodical manner. I use the lowest level possible, one that is barely perceptible. We are looking for a subtle response, not a reaction.

  • I do not use the e-collar to teach new skills. I use it as an additional form of pressure/release, which we layer on top of basic leash pressure.

  • The e-collar can be used to give corrections. This is not how I use the tool. I will educate you on how to do this, but not until the very end of our training program.

  • Short videos of our sessions will be uploaded to a shared Google drive each night. Please watch these videos before the next session, and ask any questions.

  1. At the end of each day we will do a mini lesson together so you can practice with your dog the rest of the week. Focus on the 1-2 new skills only until the next training day. It is easier and more effective for dogs (and humans!) to master 1-2 things at a time.

What should I send with my dog?

  • Flat collar with ID tags, and slip lead or prong and safety strap

  • If your dog has allergies, please provide treats or kibble to be used during training.
